To help to provide GP services at a time convenient to patients, especially for those who work or those who care for others and need to wait for someone to take over their caring duties there are now a number of places in the Wigan area that you can access when our practice is closed. They are staffed by GPs and Nurses.
NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem and are unsure what to do.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In a genuine emergency, you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Leigh Urgent Treatment Centre – Formerly Leigh Walk-in Centre – At Leigh Urgent Treatment Centre we offer fast and convenient treatment by experienced, specially trained nurses. No appointment is needed. Based at Leigh Health Centre.

Wigan Alliance
Providing access to clinicians across the Borough of Wigan and Leigh for residents that require non-urgent treatment out of surgery operating hours. For an appointment call 01942 482848.
Dr appointments – can call 01942 482848 to book an appointment to speak to one of their clinicians.
Booking line times: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Nurse appointments are available on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Appointments are available for the following:
- Cervical Smears
- Contraceptive Pill Checks ( Not Depo Provera)
- Long-term medical condition annual reviews
- COPD
- Asthma reviews
- Diabetes reviews-(annual bloods need to be done a few days before the review date)
- Peripheral Arterial Disease reviews
- Ischaemic Heart Disease reviews – (annual blood tests need to be done a few days before the review date)
- Stroke reviews
- Atrial Fibrillation reviews
